Flashback Friday: Child Rebel Soldiers

Appreciation post: Child Rebel Soldier, “Us Placers,” dir. Va$thie in 2007

A Thom Yorke sample and an homage to Bob Dylan’s most popular music video — CRS came out dunking. Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, and Pharrell Williams had successful solo projects and came together for the greatest supergroup that ended up being one of hip-hop’s biggest What Ifs? The trio teamed up again for N.E.R.D.’s “Everybody Nose (Remix),” and that was dope, but “Us Placers,” will always have us wishing we had more.

I love the OG track, “The Eraser,” which Yorke released a year prior. However, this is one of those rare times where I prefer the song with the sample over the original.
